Experts Collaborate to Advance Patient Safety
Infection control breaches and evidence of disease transmission in dental settings compelled OSAP, DANB, and the DALE Foundation to leverage each other’s core areas of expertise to better protect the public and oral healthcare community. OSAP is marshaling its expertise in dental infection control; DANB, in professional credentialing and national and international accreditation of certification programs to the NCCA and ISO/IEC 17024 Standard; and the DALE Foundation, in online education and research; collaborating to advance a major education and credentialing initiative for the profession and dental trade.
The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) is a growing community of clinicians, educators, researchers, and industry representatives who advocate for safe and infection-free delivery of oral healthcare. OSAP’s mission is to be the world’s leading provider of education that supports safe dental visits.
The Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) is recognized by the American Dental Association (ADA) as the national certification board for dental assistants. DANB’s mission is to promote the public good by providing credentialing services to the dental community.
The Dental Advancement through Learning and Education Foundation (the DALE Foundation) is the official DANB affiliate. The DALE Foundation’s mission is to benefit the public by providing quality education and conducting sound research to promote oral health. The DALE Foundation is a nonprofit organization and was founded by DANB in 2010.
